A beautiful summer's evening in London. This vantage point of this London icon is from Southwark St, round the corner from Borough Market. I had intended on doing a long exposure and this was my warm up frame. I couldn't better the light trails from other London buses that passed in other photos. Hat tip to the bus driver for the serendipitous timing.

St Paul’s Cathedral is the centre piece over looking a beautifully lit Southwark Bridge and the Thames. Been meaning to get this shot for a few weeks after having walked by here before Christmas. Brought a long lens this time to grab this tight frame.

The view of Tower Bridge taken at dusk from the banks of the Thames. Yes, the banks of the Thames! I was fortunate that access to the bank was made possible by the gaffer allowing me to walk through the short archway just off Shad Thames, down worn stone steps to the stony bank, and actually doubly fortunate that it was low-tide. A stones throw away and Tower Bridge is teeming with traffic and onlookers, and behind me the nightlife of Butler’s wharf is all a buzz - yet here on this spot it was oddly quiet and I had this view all to myself.
There is a certain something about long summer evenings on the Thames. Here’s the view this evening taken from the southern end of the Tower Bridge. Canon EOS 5D Mark III + Canon EF 24-70mm at 24mm; 6sec at f/11; ISO 100.
A winter evening shot of the Thames. This photo was taken from Millennium Bridge and is looking east towards the stunning colours of Southwark Bridge. Beyond lies London Bridge flanked by the Shard on the right. In the distance is Tower Bridge.

Loved these iridescent reflections on the Thames on a still winters night. Taken from the shore of the river underneath the Millennium Bridge. Yes it was low tide! St Paul's to the left, then on the right the skyline of the Heron Tower, Leadenhall Building and then the Walkie Talkie. This was the sea of red, 888,246 ceramic poppies surrounding the Tower of London in 2014. An incredible centennial tribute to the British fallen of WWI, and one I feel privileged to have seen. Canon 5D Mk II + Canon 24-105mm at 28mm; 14sec at f/18; ISO 400.
