The view of Tower Bridge taken at dusk from the banks of the Thames. Yes, the banks of the Thames! I was fortunate that access to the bank was made possible by the gaffer allowing me to walk through the short archway just off Shad Thames, down worn stone steps to the stony bank, and actually doubly fortunate that it was low-tide. A stones throw away and Tower Bridge is teeming with traffic and onlookers, and behind me the nightlife of Butler’s wharf is all a buzz - yet here on this spot it was oddly quiet and I had this view all to myself.
