This Maldivian fruit bat sets to take flight from a palm tree on Kuredu island in the Lhaviyani Atoll, Maldives. If you swipe you can catch the next frame of him airborne.

I set out to take a shot of the Illawarra Flame Trees in Jamberoo, NSW, but quickly swapped out the lens for a telefoto to photograph this rainbow lorikeet who was having a field day amongst the red flowers. The Illawarra Flame Tree is a local icon of my old hood and can be found on the south east coast of New South Wales, Australia.

This Tasmanian local posed beautifully with Banksia morsel in claw in the walk through aviary at the East Coast Natureworld wildlife sanctuary, in Bicheno, on the east coast of Tasmania. A great park and we were the only ones there save for their informative staff and of course the wildlife.
